sunday drive

Hi!  I am up on the Chic Tags blog today with this layout.  These papers made it so easy for my layout to come together!  I love the look of the layered mat on my layout... but I am a paper hoarder and I couldn't give up two big sheets of Chic Tags paper.... the bottom photo shows what the back of my layout looks.  I simply just used the edges of the paper.

home for Christmas

The December challenge on the Chic Tags blog is up.  It is to use something shiny on your project.  I dug in to my Good Tidings collection and added little bits of gold paper, sticker letters and some washi tape for my shiny pieces.  I just went with an uneven grid pattern which provided spaces for all my little bits and embellishments.

know this

Good morning.  I am up on the Paper Camellia blog today with this layout today.  Stop by to see the full post.  I love how these two sit so close together.  I took a bunch of pictures and couldn't decide which one to use, so I found a way to use three of them.

reindeer names

Here's a super easy Christmas decoration you can make and embellish with your Epiphany Crafts tools! I found a cute hand drawn picture of the reindeer names that highlighted Rudolph's red nose so I decided to make this 8.5x11 sign of the reindeer names with my Silhouette to display on my mantle.  I played with the fonts so that they all lined up along both sides, which meant some names were in a smaller point font depending how long they were.  The last name on the list is Rudolph and I embellished the letter O with an Epiphany Crafts epoxy.  The project was complete with a few little embellishments in the top left corner!

Dance

Monday morning.  We had some severe weather here over the weekend...tornadoes touched down very close by.  We were lucky to just have damage to our back yard, but many people in near by towns lost their homes.  Scary.  And it's mid November.  Strange.

Anyway, on to a scrapbook layout.  Here is a layout made with the November Paper Camellia kit. I love these softs colors for these pictures of my little dancer.  I went with a simple linear design here since I wanted to include a bunch of photos.

all that jazz

Hi.  Here is a layout I have up on the Paper Camellia blog today.  I have a little tutorial on how I hand stitched the words on this tag to help make them stand out on my layout.

My daughter got a new jazz outfit for her 4th birthday.  She is starting a jazz/tap class this fall.  She thought she was so special and pranced around the house for a while... and I snapped a few pics.

Chic Tags and Freckled Fawn

Hello there!  I've been so excited for this week... the Chic Tags blog hop with Freckled Fawn... I was jumping with joy when I received the Freckled Fawn October kit.  We have had projects up all week so be sure to check out the Chic Tag blog.

My first layout is called Fall Visit.  I tried something new here and used some modeling pasted and a mask to give my background some texture.

And here is the second layout, A Special Day.  I made some flowers out of layered parchment paper, tacked them down with some machine stitching and then topped them with a Freckled Fawn flower.  Oh how I love these embellishments... I may need another kit or two...

product swapping with Heidi Swapp!

All week long on the Epiphany Crafts blog we have a product swap with Heidi Swapp products!  Heidi was so generous with her product, I couldn't help but make two projects!  The first one is a mini album that was inspired by Marcy Penner.  I loved that she made a little book for her kids to help document the days leading up to Christmas, so I decided to use her idea and make my own.  I have used Epiphany Crafts tools and epoxies to make a whole bunch of Heidi Swapp Christmas embellishments to put under my cut out tag.

I have dangled a couple of charms from the spine of my mini album.

The inside pages just have a number cut out and some patterned paper peeking through.... and lots of machine stitching!

My second project is a layout with a picture from a few Christmases ago.   Stop by the Epiphany Crafts today and all week long for more Heidi Swapp projects and inspiration.

In other news... Chic Tags and Freckled Fawn area also hopping this week.  Stop by the blog to read more about it.
