2 layouts

Here is a look at two layouts that I made for the Scrapbooking Studio design team this month.  Using kraft card stock as my base, I was able to create two different looking layouts with Pink Paislee's Snow Day collection.

A spray of Maya Mist and some stitching for detail, I went with more of a messy scraps look for these two layouts.

This next project for the Scrapbooking Studio design team is a mini album that I made for Ashton's sixth birthday.  I used My Mind's Eye Kraft Fun Day-brights collection.  I LOVE kraft paper so I had a blast making this book.  The colors are just like their name, fun!  And the kraft part keeps it neutral.  Love the embellishments too.

My absolute favorite... the little circles stitched together like a banner.  I could use it on every page!

I used some Maya Mist to spray the edges of the paper, the inside cover of the book and some of the chipboard pieces too.

Stitching on kraft paper looks fantastic, so I made a stitched border on each page.

Gift Card holder idea

Though we haven't been having the type of weather to bundle up here, this is a cute idea for a gift card holder in the winter. Great for a Starbucks or Barnes and Noble gift card...when you just want to bundle up and stay warm or curl up with a good book.  For these samples I used Pink Paislee's Snow Day collection.  I machine stitched around the outside of the mitten and left the top open to slide the tag and gift card in.  Add some trim and embellishments and you've got a cute little card or gift.  Swing by the Scrapbooking Studio today to pick up the supplies.

A snowy scene

Not a flake of snow here and it's one week before Christmas, but Noah's wintery scene has filled the gap...for now. To tell the truth, I don't mind it snow-less. It makes things easy. I'd like to see a white Christmas though. Just not the same without snow.

Happy Days

Happy December!  Can't believe it is here already.  I've got my numerous advent calendars prepared...

A chocolate one from Great Grandma... two hockey themed ones and a "pretty dress"one.

This Star Wars Lego calendar.  A great find.

And then the one a made a few years ago, thanks to good ol' Ali Edwards.  I fill it will little trinkets and treats.  It is harder now that there are 3 of them.  The boxes aren't huge.  But even if it is one Sweedish fish each, they are happy!   This one is not quite finished but I have filled till at least number 11, so I have a few more days on that.

Now for some scrapbook related business...  Another project for the Scrapbooking Studio.  This time I used Echo Park's Happy Days line.  It was a really fun, bright and colorful palette, so I used some old black and white photos to compliment it.  Just some random old photos of my grandma and grandpa, my mom and dad and then a couple of me and my dad, many years ago.  It is just a collection of pictures, but in a way, it tells a small simple story.  I had a blast putting it together.  Hope you enjoy!

Now, I really need to get on to my December Daily album.  Since I have not made my base pages yet and I have lots of other things on the go, I am going SIMPLE this year!
