it finally happened...

he lost his first tooth!  It was after hockey practice.  It was very wiggly, but the big tooth was coming in behind it so nothing was pushing it out.  Dad finally convinced him to pull it.  He was so happy.  7 1/2 years old, the last guy in his second grade class to lose a tooth.  He called me on the way home from hockey.  I quickly whipped up a tooth tin for him by the time he got home.  He loved it.

He is so proud of this hole in his mouth.  And it changes him so much!

And then it happened again two days later!

boys will be boys book

I have been working on a mini album for a class at a local store here.  Using Crate Paper's Toy Box paper line and a wood album by Kaiser craft,  I put together this little book.

Here are a couple of close up pics of some of the detailed pages.

trip to Canada recount

We are back from our holiday in Grand Bend, Ontario.  Everyone had a very good time and the weather was great.  Couldn't ask for anything more.  Anyway, here are a few highlights from our week:

These three are such good travelers.  8 hours in the car is no problem...

Checking out the beach on the first night....

Couldn't keep them out of the water.

She was very hesitant about touching the sand.

 He was not....

Lots of time spent with the cousins.

After about a day she warmed up to the idea of playing in the sand.

So good to see my Canadian friends for a couple of days.

"Mom, we are digging to Australia today!"

Enjoying some Ozujsko, the beer of Croatia.

Ice cream in downtown Grand Bend.

She wanted his so badly.

One of my Canadian BFFs

Extremely tired baby with sand in her face.

The boys played bocce ball like little old men.

Family.

Mooching more ice cream.

And to end our last night, all of the kids put on a little "show."

happy mail

We just got back from a week stay at a beach house in Grand Bend.  Just before I left I found some very happy mail waiting at my door!  A friend sent me old dictionary pages, flash cards and recipe book pages.  I am seeing some sort of school mini album coming up in my near future.  Will have to work out the details.
